How does the dog thermometer work?

Domestic-use dog thermometer is an IoT device capable of measuring and comparing ambient and animal temperature in real time. This prototype example features an algorithm that analyzes the animal’s characteristics, movement, medical conditions, and temperature variations to identify and communicate potential risk situations.

The temperature monitor for dogs is currently a functional prototype in the testing phase. The goal is to refine the mathematical model that enables the identification of risk situations and helps prevent dog deaths caused by heat waves.

How the dog temperature monitor helps prevent heat-related risks

The variation in pet temperature is one of the first signs of illness or potential risk. However, measuring a dog’s temperature at home is not as simple as it is with humans. Fur, as well as normal temperature fluctuations depending on breed and condition, are common challenges when trying to measure a dog’s temperature in real time.

The device is capable of systematically measuring the dog’s temperature. At the same time, it monitors ambient temperature and evaluates both the instant and average activity level of the animal.

Based on the data emitted by this smart collar for dogs, the algorithm programmed into the prototype is able to alert pet owners about potential risk situations.

More than just a dog thermometer, the prototype aims to position itself in the market as the most intelligent dog health monitor available.

The IoT dog health monitor is a prototype that will become increasingly effective in identifying risk situations.

The smart collar has the ability to detect abnormal patterns in the dog’s temperature, while it will be the user who identifies the possible causes during the initial stage.

Through a collaborative app, animal lovers will work together to build the most efficient AI model for monitoring dogs’ health and temperature.
