Portable Mobile Charger
Objectives of the Invention
Mobile charging areas are often the scene of uncomfortable and unaesthetic clutter. Inventions like Apple’s mobile charging docks aim to make these charging points more aesthetic and tidy.
However, when it comes to various devices, as is common in most homes, these solutions are not sufficient. The limited portability of these docks is another argument that justifies the inventor’s idea: to create a charger with a retractable system, so that it only exposes the amount of cable necessary for the distance between the plug and the device.
Once the mobile charging processes are completed, the invention allows for the total retraction of the cable, resulting in a modular, portable, and compact product that can be carried to any location and in any accessory, such as a small bag.
Description of the Manufactured Product
The mobile charger with cable retraction is a simple invention that allows only the necessary amount of cable to be exposed from the charging point to the device. The charger includes a USB-C extension with an additional USB charging port, useful for connecting other devices with this type of port if needed.
The prototype was initially fabricated using 3D printing methods. This prototype allowed for the validation of the commercial acceptance of the idea.
The most important challenge of the project was to identify an existing cable retraction system, so that further investments in the industrialization of the prototype process could be avoided.
