30 days in the United States and 3 conclusions

Hello:

I really appreciate the comments you have sent me as a sign of affection after 4 Sundays without the usual email every weekend.

It's very rewarding!

I have taken these 4 Sundays to settle in Miami, the new port of Let's Prototype.

My wife is arriving soon and I had to have everything ready 😳 I haven't had a second to tell you.

Bluntly, after 30 days, I share with you the balance:
  • 30 days
  • 5 Events
  • 10 Projects (Inventions) studied and budgeted
  • 3 projects contracted and underway.
  • 10 offices of intellectual property professionals visited.
I know, it's too early to draw conclusions.

For now, take it as evaluations:
  1. Our community of inventors is the milk: Everything I read about Spaniards who come to the United States is based on "the X reasons why Spain doesn't work."
Well, so far, from what I have been able to interact with Florida inventors, the Spanish ingenuity is top notch.

I want you to know, ideas like yours have a perfect fit in this market and are not solutions from the past at all.

2. We have plenty of passion but we lack determination: I have not seen inventors so in love with their idea and with as much enthusiasm as those I have met in Spain.

On the other hand, in Spain, the inventor takes a while to decide to manufacture his first prototype, after 3 months of receiving a quote from us.

ATTENTION to the data! 90 days to decide whether or not to pursue your own idea.

Here, at least with the first 3 clients, I confess that they have expressed less “passion” but a lot of determination.

There is no romance or time to waste! It fits or it doesn't fit.

They are clear that time is money and that either they do it or another inventor will do it in less time.

3. Respect for one's own time and, above all, that of others: I have been pleasantly surprised by the great respect people have for other people's time.

The 7 inventors who have not hired our services have opted for more established and well-known American suppliers. Also much more expensive 😱

I can understand, we are the new ones.

But it is very notable that all of them, 100%, are working on their prototypes, in less than a month of having met them.

In our yard, 40% of the inventors who contact us, after obtaining a quote, find themselves in one of these situations:
  • I don't have financing, so... I park it.
  • I am looking for private investors.
  • I'm not in a hurry, I'll do it when I can...
  • I don't want to pay, I already had the idea, I just need someone who fits it.
Well... going out to look for professional services, allowing a technical team to spend between 5 and 8 hours analyzing your invention for free to prepare a serious and closed budget, knowing in advance that you are in any of these 4 scenarios, is not respecting the other people's time

I leave you a couple of notes that I am sure will make us have a much more serious and competitive community of inventors.

The prototype of an invention is not cheap and you have to finance it yourself. So, without hot cloths!

It is a very early stage and therefore you cannot expect any investor to fall on their knees in love with the great idea. This only happens in the movies.

Clear! Of course there's a rush!

There is a market to serve and you have to have the ambition to make your idea count.

No distributor, trademark or manufacturer is going to pay attention to you because you have a Utility Model title, which, by the way, does not exist here, nor is it known, nor does it protect you, we will talk about that.

I hope next Sundays I can be systematic with sending the advice.

Remember that if you want to share one with the community, you just have to send it to me.

We are helping an inventor introduce his product to this market. If you think I can be useful to you in any way, I will be happy to assist you.

Remember... With these tips, I don't intend to sell you anything.

I am only fulfilling my commitment to support our community of inventors. Of which you are part.

Warm regards
