What does the water purification machine do?

The home osmosis machine is a compact system designed to provide users with the highest quality water, giving them the ability to customize the characteristics of the water they consume based on their preferences and needs, without any health risks.

The domestic reverse osmosis machine is supplied directly from the potable water line. It ensures maximum filtration and purification through reverse osmosis. The main difference and advantage of this prototype example lies in the remineralization of osmotized water.

The prototype allows more demanding and informed users to access a simple and affordable hydration solution that is optimal for their health.

The Problem Addressed by the Prototype

The osmosis and remineralization machine prototype was created in response to the results of a joint research project between Let’s Prototype and one of the leading companies in the agri-food industry in Spain.

After analyzing the minerals present in the water dispensed by the leading machines on the market, we found that there is insufficient remineralization of the osmotized water.

Health drawbacks of osmosis water

On one hand, osmosis water is very pure. Any osmosis machine produces water that is completely free of impurities. However, osmosis water also has some health drawbacks, since the purification process removes its essential minerals as well.

Osmotized water is not a poison nor does it cause diseases immediately, but it is true that it lacks common minerals found in regular water, such as magnesium and calcium. Moreover, it is acidic water, with a low pH, which may cause some harm to the digestive system.

Most inventions and home water purification products include osmosis processes, which are safe and highly efficient. However, the remineralization cartridges and other common methods used to restore minerals to osmosis water are not very effective in these commercial machines.

Main advantage of the home osmosis system

The home osmosis machine prototype has represented a major research challenge. Multiple methods were compared to restore minerals to the water and to empower the user to design the water according to their preferences.

The surprising finding was the low mineral concentration commonly found in commercial water purification products.

In the reverse osmosis machine, the innovation does not lie in this well-known process itself, but in the ability to intelligently control the application of a specially formulated liquid concentrate designed for the machine. This concentrate can restore health-beneficial minerals to the water, while also giving the user the power to customize the water they consume according to their personal needs.
